NORTH ANDOVER — Nadine Levin didn’t think she was going to be a baker. She was in advertising but realized she wanted to add something a bit sweeter to her life.

“It was pretty much for fun,” Levin said. “I was trying to make the perfect chocolate cupcake. I didn’t want to use the box.”

Levin’s hobby of making cupcakes and cakes turned into a business, now called Pipe Dream Cupcakes, after a Facebook post prompted a friend to ask Levin to do cupcakes for her wedding.

“I said I really didn’t know what I was doing,” Levin joked.

For about 12 years now, Levin has been selling cupcakes out of her Pipe Dream Cupcakes food truck in the North Andover and Andover areas. Her food truck has become a bit of a staple in the area, as people take to Facebook to find her location and message “I am on my way.”

But now it’s time for Levin to expand.
